E' un vero piacere per me recensire questo volume del mio caro amico Ed Heuvink. E' anche il modo mio e suo di rendere omaggio al caro ed indimenticato Professore Vaccarella con il quale abbiamo condiviso reciproca stima ed amicizia, che negli anni 60 è stato fantastico interprete al volante delle Ferrari raccontate nel libro.
Ancora una volta lo scrittore olandese Ed Heuvink presenta un libro imperdibile per gli amanti dell'epoca d'oro del motor sport, raccontando in tre lingue (inglese, italiano e tedesco) ed in 470 pagine la storia di tutti i telai dal 1963 al 1967 della leggendaria Serie P.
Modelli iconici che hanno fatto la storia del campionato Mondiale Marche, nel periodo nel quale la classe regina dell'automobilismo sportivo era rappresentata dalle sport a ruote coperte.
Auto non solo vincenti ma dalle linee bellissime nate sui tavoli di Pininfarina e mosse dal leggendario 12 cilindri a v di Maranello.
Per interrompere un dominio mondiale così lungo Henry Ford Jr dovette far costruire un modello a sua volta leggendario, la GT40 affidandosi all'esperienza di Carroll Shelby , ed anche su questa storia Ed ha scritto un fantastico volume.
La prefazione è stata affidata a Luigi Chinetti Jr, figlio del fondatore del North American Racing Team, ed a uno dei piloti ufficiali Ferrari, Nino Vaccarella che vanta anche il primato di avere corso con tutte le Ferrari descritte nel libro.
Dal punto di vista editoriale anche questo volume di McKlein si presenta benissimo, stampato in solo 330 copie (il numero probabilmente non è stato scelto casualmente….)in grande formato, con copertina rigida ed un elegante cofanetto rosso per conservarlo, 450 foto molte delle quali inedite, testi esustivi di Ed Heuvink in tre lingue.

It's also my and his way of paying homage to the dear and unforgettable Professor Vaccarella, with whom we shared mutual respect and friendship, and who in the 1960s was a fantastic interpreter behind the wheel of the Ferraris depicted in the book.
Once again, Dutch author Ed Heuvink presents a must-have book for lovers of the golden age of motorsport, recounting in three languages (English, Italian, and German) and in 470 pages the history of all the chassis of the legendary P Series from 1963 to 1967.
Iconic models that shaped the history of the World Championship, during the era when the premier class of motorsport was represented by closed-wheel sports cars. Not only were they victorious, but they also boasted beautiful lines, born on the drawing boards of Pininfarina and powered by the legendary V12 from Maranello. To end such a long world domination, Henry Ford Jr. had to build a model that was also legendary, the GT40, relying on the experience of Carroll Shelby, and Ed has written a fantastic book on this story too.
The preface was written by Luigi Chinetti Jr., son of the founder of the North American Racing Team, and one of the official Ferrari drivers, Nino Vaccarella, who also holds the distinction of having raced all the Ferraris described in the book.
From an editorial standpoint, this McKlein volume also presents itself beautifully, printed in just 330 copies (the number was probably not chosen by chance...) in large format, with a hardcover and an elegant red box to preserve it. It features 450 photos, many previously unpublished, and extensive texts by Ed Heuvink in three languages.
